PRACTICE without an argument tells you your current ability level in all the skills and spells available to you. You can check this anywhere.

Practice with an argument alows you to spend a practice session on improving a skill. Skill range gained through spending practices ranges from incompetent to learned, after which you may only improve through using the ability. It is significantly harder to practice a skill you are already experienced at, so use your practices on your lowest skills for the best results.

Practice graph shows you a bar-graph style representation of your practice status.

The number of practices gained per level depends on your class and how high your relevant attributes are. The relevant attributes are, as follows:

Mage: Presence, Stamina, Intelligence

Cleric: Constitution, Intuition, Perception

Warrior: Warfare, Dexterity, Strength

Thief: Dexterity, Reflex, Perception
