Ulcyk

Ulcyk is the avatar of Vade, and the embodiment of mischief, pandemonium and luck. His followers are tricksters, and dispense maledictions and benefices as luck dictates. He has a love of the joke and rewards the curious, gaining him many followers among gekir.

Followers
His followers are witty and fun-loving, and prefer clever solutions to force. They are generally thieves and magic users.
Known History
Centuries ago, he played a colossal practical joke on his own mother, the goddess Eringarathe. At her wedding to the cavalier Halcyon, he disguised himself as Oress, the dragon presiding over the ceremony. He married them himself, and gave them luck's blessing. But, with his typical whimsy and daring, during the ceremony, he also substituted their rings with cursed duplicates that gradually immobilized Halcyon. He then extorted a countercharm from Eringarathe herself.
It is presumed that Eringarathe still holds a grudge, and this causes considerable tension between the churches. However, Ulcyk's natural charm and inherited magical ability has kept him one step ahead of her. It is said that his father is the ancient demon Atrivis and his twin was the now-dead Cielle.
Investigations
Sticks once commissioned an investigation of one that he didn't know was Ulcyk.
In midafternoon one of the elite royal guards came to Patch's bar in New Thalos. He said, "You were recently the host to a gambler of some renown?" Patch said, "Uh?" "You were cleaned out?" "Yeah. You looking for him too?" "Yeah. What did he look like?" Patch cleared his throat and said, "man gets thirsty this time of day." The guard spun a silver piece on the bartop. "I said thirsty," Patch grumbled, "not dreamy." "Skip it. What did he look like?" "Tall, looker, slick black hair. Nice rig. Soft hands. Lot of cash." "Any marks?" "No marks, no name. All in black. Had a brown brooch on but I didn't get a good look at it." "What colour were his eyes?" "Green, like his cloak. He had a scar on his cheek like a half moon." "What kind of face?" "Didn't get a good look. His cloak was hooded and I never saw his face. He had blonde hair that sorta flopped out, like bangs." "How expensive were his clothes?" "Silk, satin, barely used. No dust, no flies." "Did he sound like a local?" "Didn't say much, but no. Came in, played, cleaned us out, left the gold on the table." "Forget it, or like he was in a hurry?" "We cut him off and he just went. No threats even. He just picked up his cloak -- tan, but maybe that was desert dust, he was dirty -- put it on and went. Hit everybody all over town. Bunch of other shops shut down because they thought he was cheating."
Artifacts
A set of Aude's artifact lenses were linked to Ulcyk centuries ago.
His weapon is a bow called Sollas the Raver. Made by Ulcyk while in exile, contains his power to change the odds of battle, one of the reasons Eringarathe abandoned him. It is said that allies who hear the twang of the great bow are filled with bloodlust, while enemies will be filled with confusion and madness.
